“Go and Be Happy.” Advice by Nikki Giovanni

“Find your song. Make time to dance. Remember to play!”

“As you turn 70, you have an opportunity to experience life fully and to redefine what it means to embark on this next stage of your journey.”

I am honored to have an essay included with such notable “luminaries as world-renowned poets Nikki Giovanni and Judith Viorst, international best-selling author Gary Zukav, acclaimed writer Daniel Klein, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Elaine Madsen” and many others who share their perspectives, secrets and challenges.

A perfect gift for anyone reaching this milestone age!
The contributing authors provided essays on a pro-bono basis. The royalties generated from the sale of this book will be donated to non-profit organizations dedicated to preventing and curing cancer.

Excerpt from “Beginning My First Novel—at 70!

By Beverly Scott

“I had uncovered some juicy tidbits about my grandparents, such as the secret my grandfather kept from my grandmother—that he had abandoned his first wife and their six children without bothering to get a divorce before remarrying. Yet there was still so much I didn’t know about their background history and personal motivations that I wondered if the only way to tell their story was as a work of fiction, using the facts of their lives as the framework for what would ultimately be a novel. This is when I came face-to-face with my anxiety. Could I even write fiction? A novel! At my age! It seemed pretty preposterous.”
